Thuline, who comes from Belgium, originally trained as an architect but had always painted as a hobby.  It was not until she moved to England and settled in the Lake District that she took up painting as a profession.  Working alongside other practising artists based in Kendal, Thuline gradually developed a very distinctive style.  She uses bold colours and often takes her subjects out of context using perspective to slightly distort their images.   Thuline has a keen eye for the familiar gestures and mannerisms of animals – her cows and her dogs are amongst her best work.  Thuline is available to undertake private commissions.  Please contact us for details.
