Thuline, who comes from Bruges in Belgium, originally trained as an interior architect, at which time painting was a hobby.    After a holiday romance in the mountains of Andalusia she was persuaded to move to England where she settled happily in the Lake District and began to paint again.   Working alongside other practising artists based in Kendal, Thuline gradually developed a very distinctive style.  She uses bold colours and often takes her subjects slightly out of context, often using perspective to distort her images.  Thuline has a keen eye for the familiar gestures and mannerisms of animals.  Her dogs are amongst her best work.
