Having studied an Art Foundation course at Sir John Cass, Kim McRae changed direction and read for a degree in English and a Masters in Education. This was followed by a successful career teaching both Art and English before retiring from the profession at 40 as a Deputy Head. Since 2009 then she has been indulging her passion for breeding Smooth Dachshunds and Chihuahuas whilst working as a professional artist and giving ink and wash classes. Kim is hugely versatile and works as happily in ink and wash, watercolour and oil as she does in acrylic and mixed media. Her subjects of choice are animals, usually dogs, but she does also paint people and the world around her. Kim works from her studio in Surrey.
Full of expression, fun and funky...we just love her sketchy, loose style and masterful use of colour.
