Tor is an award winning printmaker with a fascination for experimentation. She challenges the boundaries of printmaking with new techniques, images and printing methods in order to produce the right marks and textures relating to her subject matter. Tor has an MA in Printmaking from UCA, Maidstone where she not only studied but also worked as both a tutor and a printmaking technician before setting up her own private printmaking courses. She works from her studio in Worcestershire.
Tor exhibits her work, both nationally and internationally, and has been involved in a number of charity events, including the ‘Cow Parade’, a public arts event that took place all over London to raise money for Child Line, painting ‘The Ritz cow’ for the Ritz Hotel, and ‘Essential British Kit’, for Hacketts. She also submits postcards to ‘Secrets’ at the RCA, a yearly event that raises money for student bursaries.
Using all the key processes involved in printmaking including etching, lithography, silkscreen and lino Tor creates some wonderful effects. She often combines more than one method with huge success and in these days of mass produced prints her hand printed creations are a breath of fresh air. Dogs are by no means her only subject matter but her dogs are good, very good. Tor is available to undertake bespoke commissions.
