Born in France, Marie's early work was inspired and influenced by the work of the 19th century French Animaliers, such as Pierre Jules Mêne and Antoine Louis Barye. Her work is all about capturing the spirit and the essence of the subject - capturing life. Her recent work has taken on an adventurous abstraction emphasising the essence, power and simple lines of each animal and stripping away the details to reveal purity of form.
Marie has developed a portfolio of limited, numbered and signed editions in bronze ranging from life size to miniature and also creates small-run limited editions in cold cast bronze. She also works in Raku and newer materials such as clear acrylic and Perspex. She is always experimenting with new ways to express form.
Marie is available to undertake private commissions. Please contact us for further details.
