Laura Hardie is one of the UK’s finest animal portraitists working mainly in coloured pencil or graphite and occasionally in oil or acrylic. Her love of animals, especially dogs, is quite clear to see in her work which is not only phenomenally detailed and naturalistic but also very sensitively drawn. In considering each unique subject, Laura looks for character and personality, be it through a particular twist of the head or sparkle in the animal’s eyes. It's this uncanny ability to pinpoint and capture this essence of spirit in exquisitely fine detail that she has won so many accolades from clients and the art world alike.
Laura works from her studio in Edinburgh and is in demand from clients all over the UK, as well as Europe, North America and Australia. She is a member of the UK Coloured Pencil Society and the Canine Art Guild. She has recently added a small range of signed limited edition prints to her portfolio. Portraiture price guide: from £200 - £700 for a single dog, depending on medium, size and composition.
